Success is not a destination. We have all heard this statement before, but take a second to think about your own life. Have you reached all of your goals? Have you finished everything you wanted to finish? Achieved everything you’ve hoped to achieve? The answer for the majority of us would be a resounding “no”.
The honest truth is that no matter how much success you may acquire throughout your life, no matter many how many awards you may win or accolades you collect, there is always something more to be accomplished. You will never reach your final destination.
Far too many of us dread the journey. We believe our happiness depends on some life circumstance far off in the distance. In our pursuit of success we put off what really matters; memories. Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away.
Slow down and enjoy the ride. The greatest reward as a footballer is not signing your first contract, it’s the memories you created along the way.
It's the journey that matters in the end.
