How Bad Do You Want It?

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. I’m a firm believer that we get out of life what we put in. Nobody becomes great without work. Hard work is always the baseline of great achievements. Nothing spectacular comes without it. Stephen King once said “Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”

People who are alive and heathy right now are very fortunate. Once everybody begins to realize and accept that all it takes is hard work and focus to become successful in 2019, it’s going to get a lot harder for you to become successful. You have it easy right now. Just wait 20-30 years when job markets are oversaturated with extremely hard working individuals. At that point it’ll take more luck than hard work for you to make it.

Cherish how easy it is for you to become an elite athlete or successful business person as those times will come and go. You can work for 16 hours a day. You can operate on 6 hours of sleep. You can say no to parties and a social life. All of those things are waiting for you after you’re successful.

People are coasting through life right now. They say they want it, but they don’t want it bad enough. If you want success as bad as you want to sleep in or party on the weekend, you will eventually succeed. Whether if it’s in 2 years, 10 years or 20 years, if you’re constantly learning and grinding every single day, you will eventually have something profound to show for at the end of your life. The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal, you can get there if you’re willing to work.

There is no substitute for hard work. There is no shortcut to success. Go out there and seize what’s yours.
